FP10: Built4People and DUT call for a European Partnership on a Resilient Built Environment
In a joint statement published on 20 October 2026, the Built4People (B4P) Partnership, represented by ECTP and ENCORD, and the Driving Urban Transitions (DUT) Partnership call for a dedicated European Partnership on a Resilient Built Environment under FP10, with a clear mandate, dedicated resources and a defined scope.
Why FP10 needs a dedicated European Partnership on a Resilient Built Environment
Recent events highlighted Europe’s growing exposure to climate risks and the criticality for the built environment to be prepared. Resilience means addressing these and other risks as natural and human-made threats that can disrupt essential services, damage critical infrastructure and compromise security. Stronger research and innovation are needed to help cities, buildings and infrastructure withstand both nature-related hazards and human-made threats, safeguard essential functions and citizens’ security, while advancing affordable construction and renovation, and strengthen Europe’s resilience and competitiveness.
Building on B4P’s industry expertise and innovation networks, alongside DUT’s experience in cooperation among public stakeholders and place-based innovation, a dedicated thematic area on the Resilience of the Built Environment could help develop and scale up solutions to face these risks across Europe.
